Project Overview
Elouera Constructions completed car park resurfacing works in Padstow, NSW, for Marblous / Sarkis Timber. The project involved a comprehensive resurfacing process designed to restore the structural integrity, safety, drainage performance and overall appearance of the existing car park pavement.
The works were delivered through a staged approach, beginning with site assessment and preparation, followed by surface repairs, asphalt resurfacing and final line marking.
Initial Assessment & Site Setup
The project commenced with a detailed inspection of the existing car park surface, including the pavement condition, base integrity and drainage systems. This helped identify areas requiring remediation before resurfacing works could begin.
Traffic management measures were then put in place to support a safe and controlled work environment. Temporary fencing and signage were installed to manage vehicle and pedestrian movement throughout the site.
Site Preparation & Surface Cleaning
The existing car park surface was mechanically swept to remove loose debris, dirt and surface contaminants. High-pressure cleaning was then carried out to prepare the pavement for repair and resurfacing works, helping ensure suitable adhesion for the new materials.
Surface Repairs & Drainage Improvements
Damaged asphalt areas, including potholes and failed sections of pavement, were repaired using new hot mix asphalt. Existing cracks were sealed to help prevent water penetration and reduce the risk of further pavement deterioration.
Milling and profiling works were also undertaken to remove damaged asphalt from the top layer of the pavement, creating a more uniform surface and allowing for smoother transitions at entrances, concrete edges and adjoining areas.
As part of the works, existing drains, pits and soakwells were inspected and cleaned. Kerbing and levels were reviewed and adjusted where required to improve water flow and support more effective site drainage.
Asphalt Resurfacing
Once the surface was prepared, a new hot mix asphalt overlay was applied across the car park. The asphalt was machine-spread and graded to support proper drainage, then compacted to create a smooth, durable and consistent finish.
Finishing Works
The final stage included line marking for parking bays, directional arrows, disabled bays and safety crossings in accordance with Australian standards.
The completed resurfacing works improved the car park’s safety, presentation, drainage performance and long-term usability, delivering a cleaner and more durable pavement finish for the site.
